The celebration

The big moment somehow got through it was on to my favourite bit - a bottle of champagne at hand - we started to celebrate and pass on the great news. Naturally I'd forgotten my charger that weekend and as I had an iPhone it meant it had already pretty much run out of juice already. Fortunately Soph had been more sensible and remembered her charger so no issues apart from a bit of phone sharing and my phone was still capable of sending a text - more than sufficient to tell my mates who were expecting the news anyway. Our families & friends all informed and suitably joyous we cracked on with our own celebrations - we finished the bottle off pretty quickly and a quick change and we were off for a superb dinner, one of the best I've ever had. Not that I remember much of it - I think we went for the tasting menu, and I remember thinking it was all delicious, but I can't remember what exactly we ate. But overall I have a feeling of being incredibly happy, constantly laughing and slightly tipsy (we'd gone through to a third bottle by this point) - but I had good reason. The girl of my dreams had just said she was willing to spend the rest of her life with me, happy days indeed! The rest of the night was a blur - the waiters gently taking the piss out of us as we were the last to leave the restaurant, I recall the bed being a little creaky, but good for a very deep sleep and feeling very contented the next morning as I woke up next to my bride to be. A swift breakfast in bed and we were back on our way to London - in a rush as we had a very important job to do...
